petey-cat, that's...well....I don't want to hurt any feelings so I won't say what I'm thinking? According to the commonly-known-but-never-spoken-of code of nicknames, if your going to put "cat" or "dawg" at the end of your nickname, the previous part should just be a single letter. Thus, you should have done something like P-cat, or P-dawg. Single syllable words are acceptable as well. So Pete-cat, or Pete-dawg would have been acceptable as well. I chose J-dawg, but it just didn't seem to catch on. I think I'm gonna try to revive it though, so any cooperation would be greatly appreciated. :-)

The big difference between "Pookie" and "Petey-cat" is that I was given the name "Pookie" as soon as I could smile (pretty early;) , and I didn't choose it, and I didn't ask anyone else to call me that... they just do.
the history of petey-cat:
ok i did not make up the name petey-cat in malawi me kelsey and lindsey were in a skit and in the middle kelsey called me petey-cat because we were pretty much making up the skit as it went and for the rest of the summer everyone called me petey-cat at first i didn't like it but it quickly caught on:) and then when i came home to a whole other world which i wasn't ready to re-enter so the reason i cling so strongly to my name is it a little piece of home:) and i'm homesick!!! so i have to agree it is a corny name but i love it!! cause it makes me feel like me.
Re to Mister conv.: I put the Misters cause the only Miss was on Miss Boriack - Pookie. Not even one on Missy. I had to do something about it and since i didn't think Miss Boriack would appreciate me making mer plain Brooke. I gave everybody the Mr. or Ms. titles. That way there would be no controversy over biasedness (if thats even a word). If you don't want to be Mister then would you like me to change it to Miss?

Peter. OOOHHHHH, I thought you chose the name. That's different. Pookie didn't choose her name either. When you're given a nickname, you can't really adhere to the code of the nicknames and are simply at the mercy of the nickname giver. So from now on, Petey-Cat is it. I'll try not to call you anything else.
